Overview

Step into the story of Sarajevo’s birth and rise – not as a spectator, but as an explorer.

This self-guided treasure hunt takes you through the heart of the Old Town, where every street, courtyard, and building reveals a piece of the city’s Ottoman past. Starting from the very place where Sarajevo was born, you will follow a carefully designed route through Baščaršija and beyond.

Along the way, you will discover historic landmarks, hidden corners, and stories that bring the city to life – from bustling craft streets and ancient caravanserais to places of worship that reflect Sarajevo’s unique neighbourly way of life.

At each stop, you will solve a small challenge – observe, count, listen, or simply take a moment to feel the space around you. With every answer, you unlock the next location and continue the story.

This is more than a walk – it is a journey through time, from a simple river crossing to a thriving urban center.

The experience ends in a peaceful courtyard, where your reward awaits: a traditional Bosnian coffee (or soft drink) and a museum tour, on us.

Year-round, daily 12:00–17:00 (self-guided, start anytime). Final reward location closes at 19:00.

This is a self-guided experience - no live guide included
You will need a smartphone with internet access and an instant messaging app (preferably WhatsApp)

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended
The tour has a total of 12 stops, which cover 1.4 kilometers
The experience takes approximately 1.5–2 hours
The final location closes at 19:00 - plan to arrive at least 30 minutes earlier to receive your reward
