About this experience
Overview
Every bridge in Sarajevo connects more than two riverbanks, it connects centuries of history.
Join a licensed local guide on a relaxed walk along the Miljacka River and discover how the city’s bridges tell the story of Sarajevo itself.
From medieval beginnings and Ottoman stone bridges to Austro-Hungarian elegance and the landmarks of socialist Yugoslavia, each bridge opens a new chapter of Sarajevo’s story. Along the way, you’ll hear stories about emperors, merchants, writers, Olympic champions, everyday life, and the events that shaped not only Sarajevo, but the world.
This is more than a walk between bridges. It is a journey through the city’s many layers, following the river that has witnessed them all.
The experience concludes at one of Sarajevo’s historic landmarks, where you can choose to relax with an optional refreshment before continuing your day.
On weekends, extend your experience with an unforgettable bike ride through beautiful riverside scenery to the Goat Bridge and back – once the final bridge on the eastern edge of Sarajevo.
